Share Sunday Fun Stampers Journey Summer Garden

This was an awesome stamp set to color and fussy cut to make beautiful summer garden flower cards and a card box to hold the six different thank you cards. The stamp set is from Fun Stampers Journey which my sister joined as a coach recently and I colored the flowers with alcohol markers. What do you think?

Super Special Saturday Fun Stampers Journey Some Bunny Loves You

Recently it has been very hot resulting in parts of days having to be spent inside in the air conditioning. I have had no difficulty keeping myself busy playing with some wonderful products from Fun Stampers Journey. My sister recently became a coach for the company. This stamp set and die set is wonderful. I made a total of six cards and decorated a card box for them. I stamped sentiments that can be used year round! I had a lot of fun with this carrot and rabbit coloring with alcohol markers. What do you think? I am entering this in the Crafty Animals Anything Goes Challenge.

Tutorial Thursday Stampin Up Share What You Love One Sheet Wonder Note Cards and Card Box

This is my second set of one sheet wonder cards I made with the Stampin Up Share What You Love Bundle. I started with a one sheet wonder chart I located here made several rearrangements to fit the paper and stamp set. I lined most of the cards with card stock 14/ inch bigger than the template provided for the designer series paper.

I designed my own card box for this set of nine cards. The base of the box   is a piece of card stock 8 1/2 inches x 9 3/4 inches scored at 2 inches on all four sides. The tabs are cut and box base formed. The top is a piece of card stock 6 1/2 inches x 7 3/4 inches scored at 1 inch on all four sides. The tabs are cut and note card box top formed. I decorated the top with a piece of designer paper 5 1/2 inches x 4 1/4 inches with the sides decorated with 7/8 inch x 5 1/2 inches and 4 1/4 inches border strips.

Team Tuesday Stampin Up Share What You Love One Sheet Wonder Cards and Purse

This project included 14 cards from one sheet of 12 x 12 designer series paper and a purse from one sheet of 12 x 12 designer paper! Two sheets of 12 x 12 paper and 14  4 1/4 inches x 5 1/2 inches white card bases and colored card stock cut 1/4 inch larger than the designer series paper on the cards!

I used this one sheet wonder template to make the cards with some variations from the original posting layouts for the cards that I located at:

One Sheet Wonder Layout

Layout Samples Final

For the purse that holds the 14 cards and envelopes I started with a 12 inches x 12 inches designer series paper and adapted the tutorial for a  folded handbag found here:

Using a scoring board and scoring tool measure 3 1/4 inches from the left edge and score down and repeat on the opposite edge. Turn the paper 90 degrees and measure for the left edge 5 inches and score down and repeat on the opposite edge. Valley fold on all the horizontal and vertical lines. Fold up to create the handbag gift bag! Added ribbon for handles.

Super Special Saturday Gift Idea # 12 Heartfelt Creations Tropical Paradise Gift Bag and Card Set

This Heartfelt Creations Tropical Paradise card set with bag uses punches and dies. It  is a super special project that can easily be completed in one evening for a quick  holiday or hostess gift. Here are the directions to make this super gift.

  1. Cut a piece of white card stock 8 inches by 4 inches. Score on the 8 inches side at 1 inch and 7 inches. On the 4 inches side score at 1 inch and 3 inches. On the 8 inches side snip the score lines inward just to the opposing score lines creating four small short tabs.
  2. Crease all the score lines in mountain folds and glue with strong adhesive on the outer edges of the four short tabs. Fold the long sides upward and then fold the short ends upward. Tuck the small short tabs to the inside and attach to the long sides. It will create a shallow box which becomes the bottom for the bag. Place strong adhesive of choice around the outer sides of the box along the lower edge on all four sides.
  3. Cut  an 8 inches by 6 inches and 9 inches by 6 inches Heartfelt Creations designer paper. It is important that they are the same pattern because these papers form the bag. Beginning at one end of the box with the 8 inches by 6 inches paper, place the long edge over the tape in alignment with the box’s lower edge. Continue wrapping the paper around the long side of the box, making sure the lower edges stay aligned and finish at the opposite short side.
  4. Place strong adhesive on the inside short ends of the remaining paper. Overlapping the end of the first paper, press one long edge of the paper onto the adhesive on the box and continue around the box aligning the lower ends. Press this paper over the ends of the first paper which will create the bag.

  1. Cut two 1 1/2 inches by 11 inches paper and score each one in half lengthwise. Fold the strips and secure with strong adhesive along the long edges. Use a bone folder to gently curl the strips.
  2. Use a strong adhesive to 1 inch of both ends of a strip to the bag front, placing them about 3 inches apart, centered on the front and back of the bag.
  3. Cut two 1 inch by 8 inches designer paper to secure around the upper edge of the bag and cover the handle ends for a more finsihed look.
  4. Cut a tag out of the designer paper, punch a hole in the top of the tag and tie on the front handle with ribbon.

  1. Cut two pieces of Stampin Up Night of Navy card stock 4 1/4 inches by 11 inches. Score this card stock on the 11 inches side at 2 inches, 3 1/2 inches, 7 1/2 inches and 9 inches. Make valley folds on the outer score lines and mountain folds on the inner score lines to create a stand up card.
  2. Cut two pieces of Stampin Up Melon Mambo card stock 3 3/4 inches by 4 inches and four pieces 1 3/4 inches by 4 inches. Adhere these panels to the three card flaps.
  3.  Cut two pieces of white card stock 3 1/2 inches by 3 3/4 inches and center on the middle panel of each card base.
  4. Cut four pieces of Heartfelt Creations designer paper at 1 1/2 inches by 3 3/4 inches and adhere to the side panels of each card.
  5. Stamp, die cut and color the tropical paradise birds. Center the birds on the white card stock center panels.

  1. Cut and fold two white card stock 5 inches by 11 inches and fold each card at 7 inches. Cut out two white card stock panels at 2 1/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches for the lower flaps of the front of the cards.
  2. Cut designer paper for one card and blue card stock for the other card at 2 inches by 4 inches and 2 1/4 inches by 4 1/4 inches. Adhere the designer papers to the white card stock.
  3. For the panel on the blue card cut card stock at 2 1/4 inches by 4 1/4 inches and the designer paper at 2 inches by 4 inches. For the second card punch out a two inch circle of paper with the flamingos.
  4. Adhere the panel and circle to the card to align the lower panel and upper panel with an opening in the middle of the cards.

Summer Stamping Fun

Anyone craving a sip of a refreshing stamping technique?  Today here is b a behind-the-scenes look at the technique  used to create this cool drink of summer.
Here’s what you’ll need to mix up this cooler:

• B1478 My Acrylix® Ice-Cold Summer
• Z2644 Pixie Exclusive Inks™ Pad
• Z2641 Glacier Exclusive Inks™ Pad
• Z2172 Whisper Exclusive Inks™ Pad
• Z2640 Thistle Exclusive Inks™ Pad
• Z726 Sponge Daubers
• Z1091 Finishing Files

Ready? Let’s get stamping!

Step 1: Using Pixie ink, stamp bottle image on pad so the top ¾” of the image is not inked. Once inked, achieve a second generation stamp by stamping the bottle first onto your desk pad (or other scratch piece of paper) and then onto your tag.

Step 2: Next, use a sponge dauber to lightly ink the edges of the bottle stamp with Whisper ink. Use another sponge dauber to ink the top of the bottle stamp with Glacier ink. Now stamp this image over the original Pixie bottle image on the tag.

Step 3: Using Whisper ink and a sponge dauber, lightly apply a small amount of ink to the bottom of the bottle stamp in an oval shape. Stamp bottle image again over previous image.

Step 4: Using Thistle ink, stamp straw image onto the bottle, allowing it to rest at the bottom left of the Whisper oval and exit through the top of the bottle.

Step 5: Use a sanding file to softly rub away a line to the right of the straw. This will give the bottle a highlight, creating a more glasslike appearance.

Voila! You have now stamped one delicious beverage. Enjoy! We hope your artistic thirst has been quenched. 🙂

Close to my Heart Taste of Summer Stamp Set

I love the citrus images on the Taste of Summer stamp set. This page allows them to shine by using them to create an entire background!

Seamless Spring Stamping

There’s something unmistakable in the air this time of year. Besides the stuff that tickles the sinuses, the stuff that tickles the artistic soul is in full bloom. When you’re ready to relieve that tickle, pick up your Close to my Heart Seasonal Expressions 2 Idea Book to see the crisp, new spring stamp sets bursting out all over!

One of the Close to my Heart flowering sets holds a place  not just because it’s adorable, but also because it’s incredibly utilitarian. The Botanical Backgrounds stamp set, found on page 16 of Seasonal Expressions 2, is your secret to seamless stamping.

You & I Layout

The springy designs of this set are made to be stamped in succession without any evidence of overlap. Applied to pages and cards, these stamps turn blank cardstock into patterned paper, straight off the press.

Botanical Backgrounds stamp set

How does it work? First, ink your stamp with an Archival Black Exclusive Inks™ pad. Press it to your cardstock, allowing the edges of the stamp to overlap onto your protected surface.

Re-ink your stamp and place it under the first impression, making sure to align the designs. Once you pull away you’ll see how your second stamp took over exactly where the first left off. Cool, no?

Botanical Backgrounds stamp

Continue to stamp your cardstock to your liking, re-inking your stamp with every repetition.

When you’ve finished stamping the pattern outline, pull out  ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ markers to splash some color onto those pretty petals.

Ahh, the thrill of spring!
