Super Special Saturday Gift Idea # 12 Heartfelt Creations Tropical Paradise Gift Bag and Card Set

This Heartfelt Creations Tropical Paradise card set with bag uses punches and dies. It  is a super special project that can easily be completed in one evening for a quick  holiday or hostess gift. Here are the directions to make this super gift.

BAG

  1. Cut a piece of white card stock 8 inches by 4 inches. Score on the 8 inches side at 1 inch and 7 inches. On the 4 inches side score at 1 inch and 3 inches. On the 8 inches side snip the score lines inward just to the opposing score lines creating four small short tabs.
  2. Crease all the score lines in mountain folds and glue with strong adhesive on the outer edges of the four short tabs. Fold the long sides upward and then fold the short ends upward. Tuck the small short tabs to the inside and attach to the long sides. It will create a shallow box which becomes the bottom for the bag. Place strong adhesive of choice around the outer sides of the box along the lower edge on all four sides.
  3. Cut  an 8 inches by 6 inches and 9 inches by 6 inches Heartfelt Creations designer paper. It is important that they are the same pattern because these papers form the bag. Beginning at one end of the box with the 8 inches by 6 inches paper, place the long edge over the tape in alignment with the box’s lower edge. Continue wrapping the paper around the long side of the box, making sure the lower edges stay aligned and finish at the opposite short side.
  4. Place strong adhesive on the inside short ends of the remaining paper. Overlapping the end of the first paper, press one long edge of the paper onto the adhesive on the box and continue around the box aligning the lower ends. Press this paper over the ends of the first paper which will create the bag.

HANDLES

  1. Cut two 1 1/2 inches by 11 inches paper and score each one in half lengthwise. Fold the strips and secure with strong adhesive along the long edges. Use a bone folder to gently curl the strips.
  2. Use a strong adhesive to 1 inch of both ends of a strip to the bag front, placing them about 3 inches apart, centered on the front and back of the bag.
  3. Cut two 1 inch by 8 inches designer paper to secure around the upper edge of the bag and cover the handle ends for a more finsihed look.
  4. Cut a tag out of the designer paper, punch a hole in the top of the tag and tie on the front handle with ribbon.

CARDS WITH DIE CUT HEARTFELT CREATIONS TROPICAL PARADISE BIRDS

  1. Cut two pieces of Stampin Up Night of Navy card stock 4 1/4 inches by 11 inches. Score this card stock on the 11 inches side at 2 inches, 3 1/2 inches, 7 1/2 inches and 9 inches. Make valley folds on the outer score lines and mountain folds on the inner score lines to create a stand up card.
  2. Cut two pieces of Stampin Up Melon Mambo card stock 3 3/4 inches by 4 inches and four pieces 1 3/4 inches by 4 inches. Adhere these panels to the three card flaps.
  3.  Cut two pieces of white card stock 3 1/2 inches by 3 3/4 inches and center on the middle panel of each card base.
  4. Cut four pieces of Heartfelt Creations designer paper at 1 1/2 inches by 3 3/4 inches and adhere to the side panels of each card.
  5. Stamp, die cut and color the tropical paradise birds. Center the birds on the white card stock center panels.

CARDS WITH HEARTFELT CREATIONS PUNCH OUT SECTIONS

  1. Cut and fold two white card stock 5 inches by 11 inches and fold each card at 7 inches. Cut out two white card stock panels at 2 1/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches for the lower flaps of the front of the cards.
  2. Cut designer paper for one card and blue card stock for the other card at 2 inches by 4 inches and 2 1/4 inches by 4 1/4 inches. Adhere the designer papers to the white card stock.
  3. For the panel on the blue card cut card stock at 2 1/4 inches by 4 1/4 inches and the designer paper at 2 inches by 4 inches. For the second card punch out a two inch circle of paper with the flamingos.
