Instructions: To see a close up of this card see this link. The shutter card template makes it very easy to construct this fun double shutter cards to make a mini album for display of photos. Using 2 pieces of 12 x 12″ white cardstock trace 2 card bases using the template. Remove the template and cut out the shape including cuts. Cut a piece of 4 x 6″ white cardstock to glue the two card bases together to form the mini album and a 4 x 6″ place for a photo in the middle of the mini album. Score all fold lines.

Trace the paper pattern shapes on the back of the selected Beary Fun Retreat paper. The center and spine pieces for the cards will need four pieces of designer paper each. Remove the template and cut out all the shapes. Before gluing down the front two panels lay down ribbon. The ribbon tie will hold the card base together when folded up. Select a total of seven images to use and arrange on the double shutter card layout. Glue all the paper pattern shapes to their designated places on the card base.

Please note when cutting and placing the paper pattern pieces that they are smaller than the card base. This allows the card base cardstock to form a mat for the papers.

Stamp, die cut and color two sets of leaves and two borders from the Beary Fun Retreat Sunflower accents, one tree from the Woodsy Treescape and one set of flowers from the Woodsy Wonderland. Color images in Chameleon Pens in Royal Blue, Bisque, Hot Cocca, Spring Meadow, Warm Sunset and Seville Orange.

Arrange tree, flower and sunflower accents on the card as illustrated.

Super Special Saturday Gift Idea # 12 Heartfelt Creations Tropical Paradise Gift Bag and Card Set

This Heartfelt Creations Tropical Paradise card set with bag uses punches and dies. It  is a super special project that can easily be completed in one evening for a quick  holiday or hostess gift. Here are the directions to make this super gift.

BAG

  1. Cut a piece of white card stock 8 inches by 4 inches. Score on the 8 inches side at 1 inch and 7 inches. On the 4 inches side score at 1 inch and 3 inches. On the 8 inches side snip the score lines inward just to the opposing score lines creating four small short tabs.
  2. Crease all the score lines in mountain folds and glue with strong adhesive on the outer edges of the four short tabs. Fold the long sides upward and then fold the short ends upward. Tuck the small short tabs to the inside and attach to the long sides. It will create a shallow box which becomes the bottom for the bag. Place strong adhesive of choice around the outer sides of the box along the lower edge on all four sides.
  3. Cut  an 8 inches by 6 inches and 9 inches by 6 inches Heartfelt Creations designer paper. It is important that they are the same pattern because these papers form the bag. Beginning at one end of the box with the 8 inches by 6 inches paper, place the long edge over the tape in alignment with the box’s lower edge. Continue wrapping the paper around the long side of the box, making sure the lower edges stay aligned and finish at the opposite short side.
  4. Place strong adhesive on the inside short ends of the remaining paper. Overlapping the end of the first paper, press one long edge of the paper onto the adhesive on the box and continue around the box aligning the lower ends. Press this paper over the ends of the first paper which will create the bag.

HANDLES

  1. Cut two 1 1/2 inches by 11 inches paper and score each one in half lengthwise. Fold the strips and secure with strong adhesive along the long edges. Use a bone folder to gently curl the strips.
  2. Use a strong adhesive to 1 inch of both ends of a strip to the bag front, placing them about 3 inches apart, centered on the front and back of the bag.
  3. Cut two 1 inch by 8 inches designer paper to secure around the upper edge of the bag and cover the handle ends for a more finsihed look.
  4. Cut a tag out of the designer paper, punch a hole in the top of the tag and tie on the front handle with ribbon.
